An important part of selling hand-made products is quality photography. When we began our online store, we had to make do with whatever we had available. Since lighting in our apartment is not the greatest, I had a goal to obtain a photo lightbox. I had no idea what brand to purchase or how we would add a photo lightbox to our photographic equipment, but the goal had been set

A valuable lesson in marketing an online store
When developing a website, especially an online store, marketing becomes very important. If you do some research one of the first marketing tips you are likely to hear is to define your buyer persona. I wrote a blog post about this some months ago. I have done quite a lot of work to try to figure out who my buyer persona could or would be.

One of the greatest creations of Jerusalem was the Holy Temple. Both Temples were huge, impressive structures with a tremendous amount of detail. The artwork and architecture all followed careful instruction relayed to Moshe Rabeinu (Moses our teacher) by G-d. This took place when Moshe received the Torah on Mount Sinai. Much of the information of what was told to Moshe is written down in the Chumash.
Bringing the Hebrew Letters to Life
One of the oldest creative professions connected to Jerusalem and the Jewish people is the profession of Sofrut. Sofrut is an all encompassing craft. It’s the link between the Jewish people and G-d, the Master of the universe. There are many parts to this ancient profession, one of them being the writing of ritual texts such as the Torah scroll, Mezuzah or Tefillin.

When it comes to improving SEO or one’s digital marketing, the specialists talk about setting up buyer personas. While the concept makes a lot of sense in certain industries, it’s not so easy when it comes to art or creating gifts. Let’s take a few examples and I hope the difficulty will become clearer.

Ever thought about the power of art to improve a sense of calm and relaxation? There is something very special about Purim. To begin with it’s a festival that is all about joy, all about being happy and bringing happiness to others. Purim is a day that we discover the hiddenness of Hashem and reveal His kindness and mercy in a way that is filled with sensitivity. Purim is a time to internalize that even when everything seems impossible, the tables can and do turn and redemption is possible. One of the greatest gifts of Purim is that it is the great equalizer.

When should we begin Purim Preparations? While those following the secular calendar are still talking about goals for the new year of 2020, in the Jewish calendar we have other activities on the horizon. The stores are filling up with a range of fruits and dried fruits for Tisha B’Av. As we looked at the fun items on display this week, my mind began to think about the festival that comes after that.
Is it too early to begin preparing for Purim? When is the right time to prepare for Purim? In the video below, the last Lubavitcher Rebbe talks about 30 days prior to Purim. We are a little before 30 days. Is it too early to think about Purim?
Problems, Progress and Planning
Do you remember what it was like when the 1900s was coming to an end and the world was moving into the new Millenium? Where were you the last week or so of 1999? What were your goals for the year 2000? It feels like a life time ago and yet, some of my goals are really very much the same.

I recently received a question about the work that we do and how our online store operates. The person had taken a brief look at some of the website and decided she could not understand what we are doing. She stated that she is an entrepreneur and could not understand how we have an online store that has a cause linked to it. Are you a charity? What are you doing?
